Showers and storms are moving into parts of north Georgia this evening from Alabama. The coverage around the metro area will increase.
An isolated strong to severe storm is possible with gusty winds and hail. Our severe risk in north Georgia is rated at a marginal, or a level one out of five. Storms could also bring heavy rain and lightning.
Storms exit around midnight. Tonight, temperatures will fall to the 60s with a little fog developing for Sunday morning.
We'll start Sunday with patchy fog and a few light showers, mainly east. By the afternoon, some sunshine will emerge. Temps will rebound to the low 80s with just a stray shower or thunderstorm.
As we get into the upcoming work week, the big story will be the rise in temperatures! A drier, hotter pattern takes hold of north Georgia.
Monday will be quite nice with highs only in the low 80s and the morning lows in the low 60s.
Later in the week, highs climb to the mid to upper 80s. Morning lows climb into the mid to upper 60s. That rise in temps and humidity eventually sparks a few very isolated showers and storms at the end of the week, but most of us will stay dry.
