The Sheep Lady of Athens uses her sheep to replace hand labor, machinery and chemicals to rid land of unwanted vegetation.

Residents who live near the South River in DeKalb County demanded action from county officials. They want the county to do more to let people know that the river is polluted.

State climatologist Dr. David Stooksbury says parts of Georgia have fallen back into a mild drought and much of the rest of the state is abnormally dry.

Most locations have had about twice as many days with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees than they typically would by the end of July.

Fibrowatt is ending plans to locate in Hart County and the rest of Georgia because it was not able to contract with any utilities to buy the power that the chicken manure would create.

- Lower heating costs by adding insulation to the walls and attic of your house.
- Install weather stripping to help the efficiency of your air conditioner and heater.
- Use compact fluorescent lightbulbs, which are more efficient than incandescents.
- Drive less and use mass transit whenever possible.
