Exemptions
» Re-use of stormwater or gray water.
» Irrigation of personal food gardens.
» Golf courses may irrigate the green.
» Commercial water use, including (but not limited to) professional landscapers, fruit and vegetable growers, garden centers, construction sites, car washes, and watering-in of pesticide and herbicide.

Washing Cars
Cars may not be washed except by car wash businesses with a current license. This includes car washes for non-profit purposes (including school or church fundraisers). (source)

No outdoor watering is permitted under a level-four drought response situation.

Swimming Pools
In a level four drought situation, filling of swimming pools is not permitted. In the current situation, if a construction permit for a new pool was obtained before September 28, 2007, then that new pool can be filled. Any new pool started after that date cannot. (source)

Wells
The state does not regulate private wells that draw fewer than 100,000 gallons of water per day. Those with private wells on their property are therefore not subject to level four drought restrictions, though following them regardless is recommended. (source)

Gray Water
Gray water is "slightly used," including water from kitchen sinks, dishwashers, bathtubs, showers, bathroom sinks, and washing machines.
